Athena Martial Arts founder Lisa Boardman is a lifelong devotee to martial arts and has practised all different martial arts in her 25 years of training. As well as Boxing, Kung Fu, Thai Boxing, Taekwondo and Kickboxing, Lisa is a 4th dan in Wado Ryu karate.
Karate focuses the mind like nothing else. It puts the practitioner in the present moment with its attention to detail, stances, katas and powerful kicks and punches.
Our karate sessions are taught using authentic Japanese terminology which is another challenge for those training in this much respected and authentic martial art. A definite work out for the mind and body.
