Have you always fancied learning how to box but are nervous about walking into a male-dominated gym?
Want to know how to throw a proper punch?
Then a ladies-only boxing session might be for you!
Taught by England Boxing level one coach and internationally recognised kickboxer and 4th dan black belt, Lisa Boardman, a dedicated ladies only boxing session will have you learning how to throw a punch correctly, how to evade shots plus teaching the correct footwork to enable you to emanate Katie Taylor!
Boxing is a fantastic way to get fitter and stronger while also learning valuable self defence skills.
Sessions are non-contact and technique-based and are a great all over body workout.

The benefits of boxing are vast.
As well as developing upper body strength through punching, it also works your core when you rotate your body as you punch, plus it works your lower body because you’ll be light on your feet as you move around to adjust your distance.
At Athena we believe that boxing is a sport that everybody can participate in and it doesn’t have to involve contact.
Purely by learning the skills of boxing and the conditioning exercises needed to develop your strength and skills, your body, and mind, will be in a great place.
It’s also a great way to de-stress! Hitting a pad can be very therapeutic after a stressful day at the office – or at home with the kids!
Lisa is a qualified boxing and kickboxing coach and has a wealth of experience including decades of fighting on the mats and in the ring and years of coaching from the corner too.
This session is designed for women ONLY.
If you have your own gloves great! But if not don’t worry, Lisa has lots of spares, so just bring a bottle of water and wear something suitable for working out!
Our Ladies Only Boxing Session is drop in PAYG (pay as you go) and it’s £8 a class

Lisa tailors the sessions to an individual’s needs. You’ll go at your own pace and level whatever that may be!
